Great appreciation was expressed to Sandy Wells for making arrangements with Pizza Hut to host our lunch meeting. Many thanks to the Pizza Hut manager as well. Pizza Hut will be noted as a Vision 2020 supporter. A letter to the East Tennessee Foundation and a proposed budget were discussed. A request to send the letter and proposed budget to the East Tennessee Foundation was unanimously approved by those present. This will allow the foundation to consider the request that they adopt Vision 2020 as a special project serving as the fiscal agent and assuring financial integrity. Once the board of the East Tennessee Foundation approves Vision 2020 as a special project, the initiative can then begin accepting funds for program operations. The proposed budget was discussed as being a reasonable expectation for Vision 2020 operations in the first year. Acknowledging that there will likely be amendments to the budget as necessary in the future, it was agreed the document in hand was a viable budgetary framework on which to build. A model for a proposed Vision 2020 Community Survey was presented. The survey was adapted to Campbell County from a similar one conducted in Montgomery County, Tennessee. Suggestions were made to improve the survey and during the next several upcoming meetings the survey will evolve into the document needed to collect ideas, data and other information from Campbell County citizens related to building the Vision 2020 Strategic Plan. Suggestions on how to improve the survey are welcomed. Comments can be posted on the Vision 2020 website at www.campbellcountyvision2020.com. (after registration) A copy of the Op-ed printed in the Sunday in the Perspective Section of the 30 September 2007 Knoxville News Sentinel entitled "Campbell residents, businesses, community groups unite on a vision," was distributed. The piece was written by one of Vision 2020's facilitators, Fred Cole. The next meeting of the Vision 2020 Partnership was scheduled for Thursday, October 25, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Jacksboro. The meeting will be a 12-noon luncheon. It is important that all those interested in participating in Vision 2020 leadership roles come to this meeting. Members of the Vision 2020 Steering Committee will be chosen as well as a chairperson and vice-chairperson. All Vision 2020 supporters are encouraged to attend. If possible, please RSVP to
